Susan ALLEN Fewell
Class of 1965 Husband's Name; Rick 8 Children 7 Grandchildren 1 Great Grandchild |
I was widowed by Class of 1962 graduate Jon Ciccarelli. We
had three daughters - ages 5, 3, three months - when Jon died in a
highway accident.
Regretfully, I did not graduate with my class and would love to fill in the blank time spaces by seeing all of them. As we age things that seemed unimportant when we were young return with a sense of urgency and realization that everything in life is important and that we didn't know it all at those younger ages. I married John Fewell III nineteen years ago and I had my three "Ciccarelli girls" and one son from a second marriage. He had four daughters so---seven girls and one son. I do believe that I have earned highest honors in the "sewing on sequins" category! Now, for me, him, and them! I own a financial planning firm in Tallahassee and my hubby, Rick, is a general contractor. (That means he can build an addition or a skyscraper.) The children's jobs and activities are far too numerous to list but I will say that it involves beauty queens and Florida State University majorettes. For the most part we are blessed! No one lives at home (that was the blessed part). LOL Rick and I do live with two "babies", our Jack Russell dogs who are well known in our golf course community. Did I mention golf? That's my husband's mistress! My interests are "keeping it real." I love garage sales, old folks, being a service to my friends, and the people God sends into my space. Things I am proud of (in addition to my family) is how much I have accomplished for a girl who married at 15!. I was the West Palm Beach Jaycee's woman of the year, a member of the "Florida Governor's Council of 100" and listed in a national magazine as an outstanding person in my field. Okay, I am not really the type of person to "pat myself on the back" but think through hard I achieved more than the people who remember me would have thought. I do remember most of my classmates and cherish the memories of "growing up in the glades." I do have an obsession that some of you may be able to help me with. It's the HUGO THEATER MEMORABILIA. I certainly hope so! I would love to hear from anyone, to share memories. |

years ranging from elementary special education to middle school
pre-algebra. I started teaching in BG at Gove, moved to Clewiston

husband, Joe and I have 6 children between us and 12 grandchildren
ranging from ages 4 - 21. We retired to Melrose, FL, just east
of Gainesville and love it. We are very involved in our church
and God has blessed us tremendously. We love to work in the
yard, fish, play golf, and travel to see our grandchildren who live in
Fl., New Jersey, and Tenn. We just enjoyed my 37th class reunion
June 25-27,2004 at the PGA Resort in West Palm Beach and it was great
to see so many classmates and faculty. Would love to hear from old
friends. God bless each of you.

Jenny AUSTIN Roberts
Class of 1962 Husband's Name; Michael (deceased) 2 Children 1 Grandchild |
This is an update entered on 9/4/06: I have retired from nursing
at Motorola, Inc., in Atlanta, on Oct. 1, 2004. Now, I have
recently moved to Brunswick, GA to be near the ocean and enjoy small
town life. I plan to do lots of traveling, gourmet cooking ( I
just started taking classes, what fun that is!) and volunteer work now
that I have more free time. I enjoy playing a little tennis,
lots of hiking and reading good books also.
I have two wonderful sons:
Ben, my oldest, is married to Julie and they live in Ann Arbor,
MI. They both graduated from the University of Michigan and he
works in information systems while Julie is in social work. They
have given me my wonderful granddaughter, Remy, born July 27, 2005.
Matt , works as a traveling physical therapist assistant and is in
Brunswick, GA presently, although his work can take him to many
states. He is loving it.
As some of you know, I was married to my high school sweetheart,
Michael Roberts until he passed away. During the time we were married
we lived in Kansas City, Toledo, and Cincinnati so we spent a lot of
time in the midwest. Coming back to live in the South was always
a wish of mine, so I plan to remain in the southeast now that I have
retired, far away from Atlanta traffic.

I am living in West Palm Beach with a wonderful new
husband. My daughter Amy and her husband and 3 children also
live in West Palm Beach so I am blessed to be able to see them
frequently. My other two daughters, Christy and Jenny, live
in New York City, where they are pursuing their careers. I
bought a little place in Belle Glade where I expected to live and
eventually retire, but then met my husband and my life took a wonderful
detour. I look forward to another reunion one of these days. |

Class of 1962 Husband's Name; Robert 5 Children 14 Grandchildren |
Hi, 1962 graduates. This is a "1961 quitter to get
married-person," but I have not forgotten my school years at Belle
Glade High. I have not forgotten you all.
After we left Belle Glade my husband and I tried many different spots in Florida - even one in Louisiana - but God took hold of his life and put him into ministry, so we have pastored churches in Dade City, Florida, then in Live Oak, and now in McAlpin, Florida. We have been here seventeen years. I have five fine children and fourteen grandchildren. Gloria Greer Reiche came to see me today and she told about the web site where I might talk to some of you. I hope you write me and let me know how you're doing. We grow tomatoes on the side and my husband takes care of the church. We love it here in O'Brien just a few miles from the church. We have a thirty-acre farm and Wayne Bair (my brother) lives on the other side of me and Mama lives in the middle house. Buddy and Glenn are still in south Florida. I don't know why they don't come to God's country. HA HA. Write soon. |

Unfortunately I don't have too much spare time yet but we
do manage to slip away in our 34 foot Searay cabin cruiser. We
just got a wave runner so we are learning to play with that also. I read
often and still play the piano. I raise money for abused children and
also volunteer to help senior shut-ins. I have no regrets, my life has been wonderful. I married my soul mate in 1963 and we are still "best friends." Something I am proud of - I was voted the "Best Realtor" in the Tampa Bay area by Tampa Bay monthly magazine in 1983. I have been in real estate since 1979. |
Vicki BRANTLEY Vick
Class of 1969 Husband's Name; David (deceased) 1 Child |
After Graduating from BGHS in 1969, I went to Miami-Dade
Junior College and worked in Miami until 1979 when I tried to pursue a
singing career in Nashville, TN.
The country music industry wasn't kind to me and I discovered it was easier to meet the stars than to be one. I'm proud to say that of all the country music singers I had the privilege to meet and become friends with, Marty Robbins was my dearest. His untimely death in 1982 brought his son, Ronny, and I closer together as friends and even to this day, we share a rare friendship that even our spouses are proud to be part of. I didn't marry until I was 37 years old. I married David Vick, who had been my Minister of Youth and Music at First Baptist Church in Belle Glade my senior year of high school. After his first wife left him, he took a trip to Belle Glade to visit friends and was involved in a motorcycle accident. During his recovery we spent time together as I literally put the pieces of his life back together. After his divorce, we started dating and in 1988 we were married. In July of 1990 our son was born and this year we celebrate our 13th anniversary. We're as happy as if we had good sense and love living out in the country in an old house (built in 1900) which we've fixed up. We have almost 5 acres of land where we raise chickens (love those fresh yard eggs!) and have a chocolate labrador named "Shadow" and a shaggy striped cat named "Tiger". Life in the country is WONDERFUL! David is trying to retire, but stays busy tuning pianos and teaching voice and piano lessons. He is still Minister of Music in our little country church in Eldorendo, Georgia and I'm a full-time mom, wife and deputy clerk at the Gadsden County Courthouse here in Quincy, FL (22 miles NW of Tallahassee - Go 'Noles!). Would love to hear back from some of the Class of 1969 or any other Class from BGHS. |

I married in 1955 and was a stay-at-home mom and wife, and
all the other things that go with being home with children. We moved to
Ocala in 1969 and lived there until my husband, Paul retired and then we
moved to Tennessee. Paul died in 1984 and I lived there until 1990 when
I moved to Germany to be a dependant of my son David who was in the Air
Force. I did volunteer work there for a number of organizations,
including the Red Cross and the USO. Had a lot of fun there, and didn't
really want to come home. But all good things come to an end so I
returned home to live with another son in Homestead, Florida and went to
work as a receptionist in Miami. When that son went to work in Denver he
sold the house and I am now living in Tampa with my daughter and her
husband. I have 2 granddaughters and 5 grandsons, 2 great-grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter, with another great-grandchild on the way - due in October.. I am now working as a sales associate at the Tampa International Airport and enjoy it very much, meeting all the people who are on their way to other places. I enjoy sewing, ceramics, crocheting, knitting, reading and most
other crafts. I have two sayings that I say to myself often - "Don't sweat the small stuff, it's only small stuff." and, "Each day is a brand new day, never been used before and therefore it is up to me to make of it what I can." |

I graduated from BGHS in 1969, PBJC School of Dental
Assisting in 1970, and PBJC School of Dental Hygiene in 1978.
I married Paul Prescott in 1970. We've been married for 33 years and have raised four children. We raised the kids in Belle Glade and they agree that it was a great place to grow up and make lifelong friends. We moved to Wellington, Florida, three years ago but stay in close touch with the glades as we still have family there. My parents, Clyde and Louise Buckner moved to Lake Placid, Florida, five years ago and I'm sad to say that their health is steadily declining. Paul's father, O.C. Prescott, passed away in 1973 but his mother and sister, Nancy, are still in Belle Glade. Our oldest son, Paul, Jr., graduated from Florida State University in 1994where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He's now married and has two great little boys. He is self-employed Paul, Sr. in the sod business and presently lives in Davie, Florida. Oldest daughter, Amy, attended FSU for two years where she was a Pi Beta Phi sorority girl and then transferred to University of Central Florida in Orlando where she graduated in 1997. She's been teaching school at Gove Elementary in Belle Glade for the past six years. She's married to Paul, Jr.'s, fraternity brother and has a 2 year-old son. They live close to us in Wellington. Our younger daughter, Brooke, just graduated from FSU, was a member of Delta Gamma sorority and is studying for her masters in journalism at the University of Miami. We never thought we would be writing checks to the Hurricanes! Last but not least, our youngest son, Matt,is a junior at FSU and a Lambda Chi like his brotherand thinks life is great. Paul and I have filled our years with wonderful memories of little league baseball and football games, Glades Day School championship football games all over Florida, and cheerleaders. We still talk about the good old days at BGHS and are looking forward to our upcoming 35th reunion in 2004 |

After graduating from BGHS I attended Florida State
University. My father died unexpectedly the next year and after my
father's death my mother decided to move to Edenton, North Carolina
where she was born and raised. I did not want to move. Leaving Belle
Glade was very sad for me .
I transferred to East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, where my mother had graduated in 1929. The next year I met my future husband, John "Johnnie" Miller Robbins, Jr. We were married in 1967. The following year we moved to the Outer Banks of North Carolina where Johnnie was born. Johnnie was principal of Kitty Hawk Elementary School. I taught until Penelope was born in 1971. I taught high school English for a couple of years but dropped that when I built Cypress Plaza, a strip shopping center in Belle Glade. Because of my property (which I sold a few years ago) I have been in Belle Glade frequently over the years. When our youngest child left the nest Toney and I bought an ocean-front condo in Jacksonville Beach, sold our home in the city and became beach bums. It's a great life! |

My father is retired and living in Fort Myers, Florida. My brother Gary still lives in Belle Glade. My mother and sister are deceased. I very much would like to lovingly share with all friends, classmates, fellow rams an inspiring testimonial adapted from the Book of Psalms that is very profound for me: "Teach me, O Lord, to number my days on this Earth." My experiences in life have brought Christ into my life as my personal savior. I am truly grateful that my final home will be in Heaven. I pray that my my friends, classmates, and fellow Rams will have the same experience in knowing their destination. Please always feel free to telephone or write. Should your travels bring you through Jackson, kindly stop for a visit. |

Class of 1968 2 Children 4 Grandchildren |
I, J. Allen Croft, being of impure mind and deteriorating
body do hereby post my biography.
I was born in a cabin ( not a log cabin) in the hills of Tennessee on June 16, 1950. After moving to Belle Glade as an infant where I spent 16 happy years in Osceola Center (The Camp), I moved back to Tennessee at the end of my junior year. After graduation (68), I moved to Dalton, Georgia where I have lived ever since. I married-happily twice and divorced-friendly twice. My son John is my pride and my daughter Lacey is my joy though that changes depending on their actions. I went to college from '91 to '95 (late bloomer) after selling a couple of businesses. I had a survival training center where families and individuals were taught the fundamentals of how to survive and as far as I know they are all still alive. <GRIN>. I am a political activist (right wing of course) trying to save the piece of the world that my family and I inhabit. I own HavenCroft Enterprises and am relocating back to the Tennessee Hills as soon as I sell my Georgia holdings. |

Class of 1964 Husband's Name; Donald 3 Children 6 Grandchildren
|
I moved to Belle Glade in the summer of 1961 and made some wonderful
friends. I married Ray Tyler in 1964 after graduation and we moved to
Jacksonville Beach until his discharge from the navy in 1965. We moved
back to Belle Glade and I started working as the secretary at Belle
Glade Elementary School. Between 1966 and 1971 we had three beautiful
children - Mark, Michael, and Matthew.
When Ray's father passed away we moved to Donalsonville, Georgia to
help in the family business and we built a home in the country. I
loved being a "stay-at-home mom" for the first time but that
only lasted one year.
We moved back to Belle Glade and I returned to work for the school system. Our marriage ended in 1973.
I moved to Tampa in 1974 with my second husband and worked as
receptionist at the Tampa Port Authority. I found myself in an abusive
relationship and divorced number two after eight months. My father
visited me and helped me regain control of my life and I vowed never
again to let anyone hurt me or my sons.
I met Don in April, 1975 and after a whirlwind romance - in spite of a
nearly fourteen year age difference - we were married in November. We
bought a home in Valrico, east of Tampa, and I resigned from my job
and stayed home for a short time. Michael and Matt were both involved
in youth soccer and I coached Michael's A-team for two years with the
help of a high school soccer player.
I returned to work in the school system in 1980 as secretary in the
guidance office and to the 8th grade dean of girls at Mann Junior High
in Brandon. In 1984 I transferred to Seffner Elementary as personal
secretary to the principal. (What a small world! - Barbara WOLF Port
from Belle Glade was a first grade teacher there.)
In 1994 I injured my back from a bad fall and had surgery in 1996 with
good recovery until arthritis settled in my spine and hip joints.
After talking with my surgeon I decided to retire in June 2001 with 31
years in the Florida School System.
All three of my sons are married and now I'm blessed with three
wonderful daughters. They all live within fifteen minutes of us and we
enjoy a 16 year old step-granddaughter named Kayla, and six adorable
grandchildren; Michael (12), Evan (10), twins Meghan and
Mitchell (4 1/2), Reed (3 in Sept.) and Lauryn (3 mos.)
I enjoy cooking and have a flair for the gourmet, growing herbs,
reading, basking in the sun, and any decorating project around the
house. Don and I both enjoy fishing and spending time on the beach. I
would love to learn to play golf but don't know if my back would
afford me that pleasure. We have a 36' motor home and enjoy traveling
whenever we can and it's my dream to sell our home and relocate to a
'maintenance free' lifestyle and focus on more
travel. Personally, I would love being a fulltime RVer!
I'm still the hopeless romantic that I was as a teenager and I
started working on a novel a few years back but somewhere along the
way I lost my inspiration....who knows what could happen tomorrow
though!

Class of 1958 Spouses Name; C. Dawne 2 Children No Grandchildren |
Reviewing the website sure brought back a Flood of Memories!!
After graduating from BGH I went on to the UofF and after great toil
and tribulations received bachelor's degree in building Construction
on June 63.
After graduating from the UofF I joined the US Army Reserve, did my
boot camp at Fort Jackson, SC and 5 and 1/2 months active duty at Ft.
Benning GA, I think it was a good thing that I never had to be a
part of the Army at war. I Just wasn't much of a soldier.
After separating from the Army. I finally went to WORK -
much to my dearfFathers relief. I worked at Cape Kennedy , Fla
for a eneral Contractor for about 4 and 1/2 years. Married for
about year while at the Cape. Young, dumb, and more than a bit
full of it. After completion of the moon pad work at the Cape
came to a stand still. So I left the Cape (sans wife, sans job)
and went back home to BG to revitalize for about 2 months of Nanny's
TLC and Shortie's push to get on my way to better things.
I then took a position with a general contractor in State College, PA.
The first project was the construction of an apartment hi-rise, then
with another company for another apartment hi-rise. Then with another
company Admin Bldg for College of Agriculture, Addition to Pattee
Library, and MedowBrook Hospital all for the Penn State University
Two weeks after arriving in State college I met the cutest little
blonde one has ever laid eyes on and about a year later we were
married. That little blonde is still my wife We were married on
the 23rd of November, 1969 and my luck was that I got a
super lady and also a three year old son. My wife's name is C
Dawne (you'll never learn from me what the C. stands for) and our
son's name is Dennis Dean.
After completing the works in State college I took a position with a
general contractor in Akron, Ohio. The project was a 3 ½
acre bulk mail handling facility and one acre vehicle maintenance
center for the mail handling facility. We were in Ohio for
approximately 2 ½ years.
We were blessed with the birth of our daughter Daphne Dawne, on the 5th of October, 1972.
After completing the works in Ohio We moved to Sanford, Fla. for an
intensive care high-rise in Orlando, Fla. We were on this
project for approximately 2 years and then took a position with a
company in Jackson, MS. The projects there were for the
University of Mississippi Medical Center (clinical science wing, 150
chair dental school and an addition the Veterans Hospital)
After the completion of these projects we did a big move. We left the
state and arrived in Saudi Arabia July 7th, 1977 We worked
for ARAMCO and lived in two communities. We left Saudi and
return to the states November, 1986 determined to set down some kind
of ROOTS.
God! surely blessed me with a super mate. We bought about 60
acres in Cumberland City, TN (without doubt the prettiest piece of
land in Tennessee.) My wife ought to know this because she is a
realtor.
I worked in an around the states until about 1994 and then I returned
to Saudi with a Japanese contractor for a lube oil
refinery in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. That project was approximately 3
years then I went with a 100 % Saudi owned company on Glycol Refinery
in Yanbu.
I returned back to the states in 2000 supposedly never to
leave again. During all this time Dawne was keeping the home
fires burning, supporting Daphne getting her degree and keeping a
watchful eye of son working the the construction trades.
Back in the state I took a position with WCOM and this was to be 'til
I died or retired. Needless to say that didn't happen. January,
2001 I returned to Saudi Arabia with the last company I worked for
there. The main project I'm involved with is a 200 villa community for
Saudi Royal Commission (Yanbu, Saudi Arabia)
Sorry I got so long winded but I always did talk too much. Molly F.
will remember Ms Dixon telling me that in English class.
Belle Glade is still Home and will always be. Mom and Dad (Shorty
and Nanny) are at rest there and my little sister and her clan
(Saundra) still live there.
I would sure appreciate hearing from any of the voices of such
wonderful Childhood and young adult memories.
Love You All

Ann DRIGGERS Beagle
Class Year; 1955 Husband's Name; James (deceased) 1 Child 3 Grandchildren |
I have just learned of this website and what a joy for me!!!!
My husband recently died (7-30-01) and I am just these past few weeks beginning to find which way is up. We were retired to a fishing village on the west coast of Florida called Steinhatchee and had been since 1991. We fished and hunted and really enjoyed our years of retirement together. We had our own businesses since 1971 so we were together 24/7 since that timeen. I`m really having a hard time with this new classification of widow. I still have my place in Steinhatchee, right on the Gulf of Mexico but during my husband`s illness, I was forced to move to Gainesville, Florida to be nearer the doctors and hospital. My only child, a daughter, Jamie was married for 16 years to a physician here in Gainesville, hence, that is why we located here as far as medical care instead of Tallahassee, which is about the same distance. She has since divorced the doctor and is remarried to her high school sweetheart, who is a financier, with his company which is home-based in Philadelphia. They have a home here in Gainesville and he commutes by plane twice a week. I have written all that to say this - that is why I am now in
Gainesville and have bought another house and guess I will try to make
my way through time here. I know many professional people my
kids ages but not many my age. I have had to leave my friends,
church, church family and 40 years of marriage behind.
So at the writing of this epistle, I am looking at starting over
on my own at 63 years of age and the thought is overwhelming and
very disparaging. I would like to hear from some of you whether
you knew me in high school or not and give me your thoughts and ideas
of how you might have better coped if you have been and are in my
position. I have great family support, am very well financially
and am in good health.
For all my many blessings, I praise the Lord. My past is meaningless now as far as writing it in this profile. I would just like to hear from any of you that care to write. |

Homer FRASURE
Class of 1962 Wife's name; Nancy 3 Children 9 Grandchildren |
Went straight into the Navy from graduation. I spent 22 years in the
Navy Submarine Service. Looking back I can remember all the good
exciting times but am trying hard to forget the loneliness of being at
sea for long periods of time. But it too was a blessing, as I only
spent around 9 years of the time at home my wonderful wife, whom I met
in Pensacola Florida never got the chance to know me. Every 3 or 4
months it was just another honeymoon, and when we started getting on
each other nerves “poof” I was gone again. God does know what he
is doing after all.
After the Navy I got the education bug. For those of you that know me
you will find this hard to believe but I got my first degree (Magna
Cum Laude) not the Homer Frasure most of you remember. I have also
picked up some other education to help my career but none were as much
fun as the first one.
I currently work for a company called AMETEK and am spending most of
my time traveling between plants. I do statistical math modeling of
manufacturing process for comparison with the physical process to
identify and correct deficiencies. My home office is in Chicago, but I
will be retiring sometime between now and Dec 2006 and move to Phenix
City Al. where we currently have a home.
After being cooped up in a Submarine for 22 years I like to do just
about anything outside. #1 would be golf and then things with the
family.
I am very proud of my life, my family, and my friends, there is
nothing I would do differently. I am as God planed me to be, the
results of all I have done. I like me the way I am, and I love and
thank God for making me, ME. GOD is GREAT.

My wife Sydney and I have been married for
over 41 years. We have two sons, one living in Vienna Va. and the other
in Memphis Tennessee. Both are married and the one in Memphis
is the father of our two grandchildren. Syd and I lived in a number of places in Florida based primarily on my job changes. I finally went to work for Gateway computers in 1995 and we moved to South Dakota for two years. We then got a chance to transfer to Hampton Virginina in 1997 which we did. We lived there until this summer when we decided to come back to Florida due primarily to my health (two major heart attacks since 2003). We now live in a unique retirement community called The Villages which is located about 20 miles south of Ocala and 75 miles north of Orlando/Disney. We've been here a few months and bought a home. We're still trying to sell our place in Virginina. If any of you are in the area, please give us a call and drop by. |

Class of 1959 Husband's Name; Wayne 2 Children 1 Grandchildren |
I have worked professionally in retailing for several
years. In 1982 Wayne and I moved to Gainesville, Fl and purchased a
flower shop which we sold in 1991. Retired for a while but hated it.
We moved to O'Brien, Florida in 1997 to a 30 acre ranch. Wayne is still working but plans to retire in 2002. We are raising miniature horses, which is quite a lot of fun actually. In our spare time we are building a mini horse barn and we're putting it up in sections. The first section is up. Through this ordeal we have gained a great deal of respect for the farmer. We have two children, Daniel and Debbie and one grandchild. I presently work with people who have disabilities. I find this work most rewarding. Our main hobbies are camping and fishing. We go to Steinhatchee quite often. Its really good fishing. |

been married now for 33 years and have two sons - Chad, who is married
and has two daughters, and Scott, who is married and has daughters.
Kathy and I always a girl but didn't get one and now, by the grace of
God we have four. Like the old saying goes, if I had known grandchildren
were this much fun I would have had them first.

I retired in 1996 after working 35 years for the Kroger Co. as a fruit and vegetable buyer. For the Past six years Janice and I have lived in Steinhatchee, Florida - a quaint little fishing village located on the banks of the Steinhatchee River where the river meets the ocean...good fishing and plenty of beautiful sunsets. Less than 1000 mail boxes, no stop lights, and plenty of good seafood. A near perfect place to enjoy life as we fight the aging process of maturity. |

Class of 1962 Husband's Name; Jerry No Children |
For three years after graduation I worked for the City of
Belle Glade as Accounts Payable Clerk.
I met Jerry in 1964 and a year later we got married. We have lived all over south Florida, and in north Florida. We came to South Carolina several times on vacation and decided this was where we wanted to live. Two years before moving up here we kept DYS children. We had 63 teenagers in our home in that two year period. We both love to work with young people. We moved to SC in 1979. I started working in the school system in 1980 and worked there until April of this year. I substituted in classes, worked in the library with computer programs, drove a school bus (if you have not tried this you should) and my last assignment was I. S. S. In April I was told that the I. S. S. program was being cut so I looked for another job. I am now working for Tamassee D. A. R. Boarding School. I'm manager of the dining hall and I just love it. I love to cook (this is from Mrs. Litchfield). I collect cook books. I also collect butterflies. I like to go fishing and camping. We have a 26' motor home and hope to do some traveling. I like to read. I like any books about BG or the Glades, also, historical fiction (John Jakes or Patrick Smith). Would love to hear from other classmates |

We live in Pontotoc, Mississippi. We moved here in 1994. I worked for USSC in the vegetable division for 35 years. When that division closed in the summer of '94 I decided not to accept a lateral position with the sugar company. I moved to Mississippi to retire but after a month I couldn't stand all the spare time so I took a job at Mississippi State University extension service and I've been here ever since. We really love it here. My hobbies are woodcrafts, traveling in our camper, and spending time with my wife, children, and grandchildren. We go camping with the Nestors and other friends as well as family. |
Mary HEMPHILL Johnson Austin
Class of 1951 6 Grandchildren |
I was born in Juliette, Florida, now known as Rainbow
Springs to John D. and Julia Hemphill. When I was four months old we
moved to Lake Harbor.
I attended Lake Harbor School (grades 1-4) where we had only two classrooms and an outdoor bathroom. After 4th grade I attended 5th - 8th grades at South Bay School then graduated from BGHS in 1951. In August 1951 I married Leo Johnson whom I had been dating for the last two years of high school. We were married in our little Lake Harbor Community Methodist Church. We took all three of our children back there for their Christenings. Leo was in the Army for the next 18 years so we traveled to different parts of the world, being stationed in Africa and Germany with Leo also going to Korea and Viet Nam. He died Oct 1969 in Viet Nam. In the spring of 1970 I moved with our three children to Dunnellon, Fl. to be nearer family. Our first child, David, was born in 1952 in Indiana. Juanita was born in 1958 in Africa and Johnny was born in 1964 in Maryland. David, a salesman for a TV cable company, lives next door to me with his wife, Karen (who works in the cafeteria of Dunnellon Middle School), and two of his four children, Matthew-19 and Sara-17. His 21 yr old daughter, Dawn, is attending college in Ocala, and his 24 yr old son, Jay, also a TV cable salesman, and his wife, Heather live about six miles from me and are expecting my first great-grandchild on December 25th.What a Christmas gift for this Nana. My daughter, Juanita, teaches K-4 at a Christian School, and lives with her hubby, Bob, a computer programmer for Card PAC System in Orlando with my other two grandchildren, Jessica-16 and Zachary-13. My youngest son, Johnny was killed in a tragic automobile accident in 1973 at the age of 8 years old. Before the death of my husband, Leo, I had been a stay at home Mom, but after moving to Dunnellon and losing Johnny in 1973 I needed something to do and went to work for the Dunnellon Post Office. I was a mail carrier for the next 21 years retiring in Nov. of 1994. In Nov. of 1996 I married Harlow Austin of New York State and
Dunnellon, who was also a retired mail carrier. We had a wonderful year
and a half traveling before Harlow died of a heart attack in June of
1998. |
Susie HEMPHILL Blauser Class of 1959 4 Children 11 Grandchildren |
I was born in Lake Harbor to John D. & Julia
Hemphill.I had three siblings, Mary, Jack and Aileen. I attended our
Lake Harbor School (grades 1-6), BG junior high, and graduated in 1959
from BGHS. I attended two years at CFJC in Ocala, Fl. graduating with a
AA degree toward Elementary Education in 1961.This concluded my formal
education.
In 1963 I married Ted Blauser of Ocala in the Lake Harbor Community Methodist Church and we lived in Belle Glade until we moved to Dunnellon in 1970 for Ted to take a position at First Marion Bank in Ocala. We divorced in 1985. We have four children; Allison who lives with her hubby, Russ in Suffolk, Va., and children, Nicholas-15, Victoria-7 and Rachel-4. Allison works in communications and travels the world over with her job. Russ is a Nuclear Operator with Surry Power Plant. My son, John Allan, lives with his wife, Kristen, about two miles from me with Denise-9 and Maggie-5. John is a paramedic with Munroe Ambulance Service and Kristen is a police officer with the Ocala Police Department. My next daughter, Elaine lives with her hubby, David in Dunnellon with their two sons, Dalton-9 and Dane-4. Elaine is a K-4 teacher at Dunnellon Christian School and David works at the Florida Power Plant in Crystal River. My youngest daughter, Michelle lives with her hubby, Craig in Morriston, about 15 miles from me with my youngest grandchild, 17 month old Angus. Michelle is a mail carrier with the Dunnellon Post Office and Craig is a Paramedic/Fireman with the Marion Co. Fire Department. As for me, I was a stay-at-home Mom until after the divorce and then I went to work for the Marion Co. School Board, first as a substitute-teacher, then teacher's aid and finally the job I now have working in the office of the Maintenance Parts Department. I enjoy singing in my church choir, spending time with my families and spoiling these wonderful little things God has so graciously given me called grandchildren. ARE THEY NOT THE GREATEST CREATIONS EVER? Mary, who lives just up river from me, & I have been researching our family history for about the last 10-12 years. This research has taken us on many statewide and out-of-state trips for interviews and information gathering. At the rate we are going I don't know that we will ever get it into book form as we just keep on collecting, but what fun we have on our trips and our time together. We can't complete it because then we might not have a good reason to hop in the car and take off on yet another "Good Lead". God has been good to us. Life is not always easy but when we let Him, God is always there to guide us through the bad times and help us enjoy the good times. |
Vernon "Dale" HENDERSON
Class of 1964 Wife's Name; Nancy Lee 2 Children No Grandchildren |
Well, Hi, All,
I was born in Clewiston and grew up in Lake Harbor. My father a commercial fisherman and gentleman farmer. We lived only one mile east of town, but I was first on the bus which then went 15 miles toward Clewiston and then back to Lake Harbor Elementary School for a total of 62 bumpy miles every day by school bus. By the third grade we had moved next to the school. I started 7th grade at Belle Glade Jr. - Sr. High (36 miles per day by bus on good ole Highway 27) and finally graduated in 1964 with a lot of good memories. My craziness is probably explained by all those bus rides. I entered Palm Beach Junior College on a scholarship but the Viet-Nam War ended that. I joined the Navy in November, 1965, becoming an Electronics Technician chasing nuclear submarines (go figure!). I was a "20-year man" but it took only seven years for them to change my mind and I left as a Senior E-5. Went to work in the medical electronics field and kinda got stuck there. Met my first wife, Carol, at the USO in Chicago. That lasted two years (her father was Jewish, her mother Christian Scientist). Five years later, started dating my second wife, Nancy. Seven years later, in 1980, we got married and I finally graduated from North Illinois University with a BSEE degree. I took an engineering job south of Houston, Texas (with a medical electronics company, of course). My son, Michael, was born in Freeport, Texas, in 1982. We stayed two years, got laid off, moved back to Illinois, went to work for a medical supply company. After a couple more jobs with big name medical companies and more lay-offs I pulled the plug (bad pun) and went to work for the government as a civilian. My daughter, Michelle, was born in Libertyville, Illinois, in 1989. I now work at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in North Chicago, Illinois, as a computer specialist and systems network administrator (looking toward retirement). Nancy also works as a secretary in the cardiology department of the medical center . My son, Michael, is now an honor student at Northern Illinois University studying Computer Science. My daughter, Michelle, is a seventh grade honor student. Both are gifted musically (not from me), artistically, and scholastically (maybe I'll take some credit for the last two). As you can guess, I am extremely proud of them! Belle Glade was very good to me. My mother, brothers, and sister still live close to Lake Okeechobee, I miss it and hope to get back there! Trust me, I still have muck between my toes. |

Class of 1968 Husband's Name; Herbert (deceased) 1 Child No Grandchildren |
I lived in Belle Glade since the age of 4 and went on to
graduate in 1968 at dear old Belle Glade High School. My husband Herbert and I have been married going on 27 years. We had our first and only child in 1991. Our daughter Candi is now 10 years old in the 5th grade. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be having a child at such a late time in my life. Turned out to be the BEST that could have ever happen! I spend a lot of time helping out at her school, doing what ever needs to be done. Never miss a field trip if I can help it, only going to get one chance to do this, gotta make the most of it while I can. In the fall of 1995 we moved from Pahokee, FL. to Gulfport, MS. Turned out to be a great move for us. We have three 18 wheelers. We work for Tyson Foods and haul frozen chickens to the ports here in Mississippi. These little birds go to Russia and other countries. I also belong to the Woman's Club of Gulfport where I have held a
position on the board for the past 5 years. |

What a long, strange trip it's been. After graduation I
went to PBJC (almost graduated, then signed up for a hitch in thr Navy.
Then I came back and graduated and went on to FAU. While doing that I
had an "unfortunate" marriage experience. I won't go into the
details - some of you have been there.
Anyway, while working in West Palm Beach I met Diane Sheahen, who had also had an "unfortunate " marriage, and we were married in 1983. From this we have a blended (hers, mine, and ours) set of kids - Matthew, 31; Allison, 23; and Andrew, 16; and two grandchildren. I spent four years in the navy, 13 in the construction supply industry in South Florida (now, that's a zoo!), and then became a teacher after the Lord decided I needed another job. That happened in 1985. Then, in 1990 He decided I needed to change jobs again. So, after much work and processing we moved from Lake Worth to Monroe, Georgia, while I went to Candler School of Theology at Emory University and became a United Methodist minister. In my first appointment after graduation Diane was called into ministry as well, so now we serve three churches (not together) around (but not necessarily in) Brunswick, Georgia. We don't see much of each other on Sundays but we make up for it during the week. Any classmates heading up I-95 or so, please contact us and stop by - we have hopt and cold running water and a coffee - or a glass of Georgia Church Sweet Tea, a specialty all in itself. God Bless, Rick |

Where do I start? My family moved to and from Belle Glade
about every 2-3 years and we ran several grocery stores downtown Belle
Glade, Minors, 8th Street Grocery, and the Blue Store just to name a
few. I attended 1st,4th,5th,7th,8th, and 9th grades in Belle Glade. I
really miss the old Belle Glade. I have been coming down Bass Fishing
the past 4 years in March and plan to continue. I left Belle Glade in
1969 and moved to Alabama. I returned to Belle Glade in 1970 and became
the first male LPN student but a deeper love took me back to Alabama.
(Big mistake for you younger people) After High School I joined the Army
as a Medic and retired in 1994. I became a Army JROTC teacher in 1995
and I'm still teaching today at a very large County High School. I have
some class pictures from the early 60's, Mrs. Hotard, Mrs. Battle and
Mr. Willits class if anyone would like to see them. Just contact me at
JROTC25951@AOL.COM. I used to see lettuce and radishes in the commisary
when I was stationed in Germany and even in Italy that use to say grown and packaged in Belle Glade, Florida. I felt proud to have been a previous resident. |

Class of 1969 Husband's Name; Windell 2 Children 2 Grandchildren |
I've spent the last 25 years in education, working as a teacher and
school counselor in Louisiana, then as a state-level administrator at
the Alabama Department of Education. I currently work as
Assistant Director for the Southeast Regional Resource Center, funded
by the US Department of Education to provide technical assistance to
state departments of education in ten states, eastward from the US
Virgin Islands to Oklahoma in the west. Lots of travel and
responsibility...lots of hard work, but in a satisfying job.
I re-married in 1995 to Windell, a psychotherapist in private practice
in South Alabama. Both of us relax from busy jobs by sailing the
Porch Time on the waters of the Choctawhatchee Bay at Bluewater Bay,
Florida. Both of my children (son Rick is 26, daughter Angie is
30) are married--my daughter has 2 little boys...C.J., aged 11 and
Daniel, aged 2. Both boys are future sailors.
I hope someday to live in Florida again.
Great to have seen you all at PGA Resort. It truly was a
wonderful reunion.

I am so thrilled to have found this website, and I owe it to Margaret
Thompson. I missed the reunion but hope not to miss the next one.
Having re-connected with Belle Glade and old friends has filled my
head with such wonderful memories. Those were good times and
what childhood and growing-up should be all about.
I currently live in Sudbury, MA, a small town about 25 miles west of
Boston. Have been in the area since 1984. I have been in
public education since receiving my BA from Florida State in '72. I
taught in Palm Beach and Dade County. I have worn lots of hats
in public education - teacher, assistant director of Special Education
Programs, adjunct professor in the graduate school of Special
Education at U/MA-Boston, and Principal. I have acquired a
couple of graduate degrees. I have been very lucky
professionally and have had many wonderful opportunities touching the
lives of young people. I have been an Elementary School
Principal for the past 12 years and love it. It's a lot of fun!
My father lives in West Palm Beach and I visit him 4/5 times a year.
So I do get down to FL often. I'd love to hear from classmates
and friends from the Class of 68 - Go Rams!

Someone on here said BG was just a
dream. That explains it correctly. BG is really no more.
To those of you who have not set foot in BG since the early 70's, you
wouldn't recognize it. I left BG after living there 53 years....crime was so bad and the city is run by a crew of thieves. Sorry to say this about the town I grew up in and loved. 2010 census lists the white pop. at 8%...8% x 14,000 pop. = ______. I give it to those who stay in BG with their alarms and bars protecting their homes. Anyone dare to guess if people leave their homes at night? |

We married in 1966 and moved to Mississippi when our son
John was 3½ months old. We live on
land that has been in our family for more than 100 years.
Eddie drives a truck locally and has a portable sawmill. He cuts lumber for the public, and some for friends and family. He loves woodworking but can't seem to find much time for that. He has a '51 Ford pickup which he wants to restore but right now it's in a million pieces in his shop. We go to the F-100 truck show in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee every year and DREAM of what our truck will look like. I am a bookkeeper for a sporting goods store in Tupelo. I enjoy church and have a very active Senior Sunday School class. I'm in a local garden club and we have several civic projects which are a lot of work, but very enjoyable. My greatest love is my 1½ year-old grandson, Whit. John and Heather live next door and we are so blessed to get to see him often. They are expecting their second child the middle of November. We live across the road from our best friends, Jerry & June Haulcomb. We both have campers and we enjoy taking trips. Hope to be able to retire when we are 65 and able to take trips together. Eddie wants to go SOUTH in the winter when it gets cold. God has blessed us with our health and a beautiful, healthy family and I count my blessings daily. When we start to get down we can always see someone else that is worse off. We enjoy talking to old friends and we just love to see them anytime. We have lots of room and our door is always open. |

the yearbook) at Edgewater High School in Orlando.
In 1976, I bought an old Downtown Orlando theatre and restored it to its art deco glory and promoted musical concerts, showcasing everyone from B.B. King to Sting. Finding that folks lined up early for the second show, I opened a restaurant-bar next door to the theatre which featured businessmen's lunches by day and jazz by night. During this time, my first child Sarah was born. Divorcing shortly thereafter, I was a single mom running these businesses, praying for Mr. Right. Selling the businesses in '82, I did meet my perfect partner, Kenneth J. (Dr. Bubba) Hodge, a retired lawyer. He had 2 children, I had one, and we had two more together, making a big family! 2002 finds me playing tennis, hunting and fishing, weight training, reading a lot, and writing stories about growing up in the deep south. I love having a garden and canning my bounty. I try to fit into this high-tech world with my old-fashioned ways, bringing up my children to be able to "do it all". Maybe then, they won't marry the first cowboy who comes along! I still farm with my brothers in Belle Glade, while living in Ocala. I am thrilled to be mama of a big family with children ranging in age from 11-39! All dreams have come true, all prayers have been answered. I attribute much of my happiness to the solid values I gained from growing up in such a sweet community, knowing so many fine, bright people. I stay in touch with many old Belle Glade friends and count them among my biggest blessings.

We have a son who lives in Mississippi with his wife and four wonderful children. We have a daughter who lives in Mississippi as well with her husband and two wonderful boys. We also have a foster daughter who lives in the Florida panhandle with her husband and son. So we have six grandsons and one granddaughter. Most of my time is spent with my husband (and best friend) Jerry. We have been blessed. Since he is semi-retired we have time to spend with each other that we never had in Florida. The biggest part of my time other than this is with family and life-long friends Eddie and Fay Nestor. I have no regrets. Jerry will retire in about two years and we plan to do a lot more traveling. We get to do some RVing with the Nestors but hope to do a lot more. We keep in touch with a lot of our friends from Florida. |

Ray LEE
Class of 1950 3 Children 5 Grandchildren |
After graduation from BGHS I farmed with my dad. In
1952 Charles Newman, Thomas Williams, Mackey Robertson and I decided the
Navy needed us. I was stationed on a magnetic minesweeper which did not
prove to be very successful, so most of my 4 years were spent around
California.
In 1954 I married Mary Lois Hawkins, one of those Clewiston girls I met in high school. After discharge in 1956 I returned to Clewiston. I attended barber college in Miami, opened Lee's Barber Shop and continued the trade until I sold my shop in 1999. We have enjoyed our travels to Alaska, Europe, Canada, California and trips to North Carolina in the fall to see the beautiful leaves, craft shows and flea markets. Our children and grandchildren are the center of our universe. Our daughter Kathy and her husband Jeff Caulkins gave us three beautiful red heads. Trevor, is a 6' 3" sixteen year old whose prize possession is his driver's license. Kamryn is 14 going on 20 with a main interest in cheerleading. Brandon, at 11 makes every effort to follow in their footsteps---often finding trouble. Kathy teaches in the middle school and Jeff is special education director in Hendry County. Son Joe is a deputy sheriff in Hendry County and a 20 year member of the Army Reserves -on alert to leave at any time. He is our maverick who will volunteer for anything. He has jumped from planes, broken horses, captured wanted robbers, and ridden motorcycles on U.S. 27. Mike moved to Moore Haven when he married Alicia Holland. Mike works with U.S.S.C and Alicia teaches in the elementary school. About the time Kathy's children were outgrowing us, they gave us Alaina, a self assured little kindergartener and a one year old who I think will be pay back for his dad. Austin will be the one to carry on the Lee name After 47 years of marriage we hope to make at least 50 and more. |

Class of 1965 Husband's Name; Bob 2 Children No Grandchildren |
After graduation I attended the University of Florida
where I met my husband, Bib, the second week of classes. We married
after our freshman year and then we both dropped out of school after out
sophomore year. That wasn't a good decision but it has worked as we will
be celebrating our 35th anniversary in September.
We have two wonderful (and gorgeous) children. Erik is 27 and is a design engineer for Compaq (soon to be HP) in Houston. Samantha is 23 and is a medical in a dermatology office in Boca Raton. Neither is married yet, but I'm hoping it won't be much longer because I would really like to have some grandchildren (I hope I don't become pushy!). I have retired after 32+ terrific years in the Miami-Dade County Attorney's office as the office manager. We moved to DeLand, Florida a year and a half ago and love it. Bob works for Publix in the meat department and is hoping to retire in another four years and do a little more fishing. If you are ever in the area please give a call and come by. I love reminiscing about the "olden days." |

although, some of my friends say I still have some of my Cuban accent.

After living in Naples Florida for 13 years with first husband, Larry
Hubbell, I traveled north, following a divorce, and met and married
Bob, my husband of 21 years. His profession was advertising and
marketing, and I met him in Roanoke, VA where I ended up.
A head-on auto accident by a drunk driver during a return trip from a beach in Englewood FL forced us to become self-employed in 1982. I became right-hand lady for my husband's talents. With our joint fascination for antique clocks, Bob started a clock repair business from our home in Tampa until 1987, when we started our company, Video/Graphics. We moved to Atlanta in 1989, bringing our business with us. I was the "people person" which means I worked with the customers and Bob did the real work. In 1998, our business was featured in the National Magazine, "Small Business Opportunities". Our business provided video transfer services and film to DVD conversions. Bob passed away suddenly on November 23, 2003. Before he departed
he started a new online business for me, Atlanta
Vintage Jewelry, that should be operational in February, 2004. I
expect the vintage jewelry business to keep me steadily occupied. |

We lived in the same house, the same address and phone number out in
the country for 38 years until four years ago, when we downsized into
a retirement community. We celebrated our 48th anniversary this
year.
Our oldest daughter is a dietitian, recruiting for Morrison Management
(remember the Morrison cafeterias?) for food service directors and
dietitians for hospitals and nursing homes. Our second daughter,

care. Our son, is a plumber and supervisor for a large
mechanical contractor in Lake Worth. We have six (five boys and

I left Belle Glade in May of '63, joined the Air Force and
got married in 1964. I put in 20 years, seven months, and 14 days in the
service, with eleven different assignments - including two in Southeast
Asia and one in Germany. I "retired" as a Master Sergeant (E7)
at the end of September, 1984. During this time we had three daughters.
After retiring, while working full-time, I became a full-time college
student at Saint Leo College (MacDill campus) graduating with the class
of '89 witha business degree (which I've never really used).
Having missed the five-year and ten-year reunions for BGHS while doing two tours in Vietnam, I managed to miss the 30-year reunion while recovering from open-heart surgery for a quadruple- bypass in 1993. We moved to Tallahassee in 1997 after ten years in Tampa. Our oldest daughter and her family, which now includes four of our seven grandchildren - two boys, ages ten years, and 23 months; and two girls, five years, and seven months - live next door. The other two daughters - one with two sons, four years and 16 months and the other with a three year-old son - live in the Orlando area. We have truly been blessed with our family. Joyce and I will celebrate our 38th anniversary in September. I spend most of my off time riding my motorcycle. I work four ten-hour days so that I can have a three-day weekend every week. I've been riding off and on (mostly on) for over 20 years. I currently have a '99 GoldWingSE, purchased new in October of '99 and it now has over 31,000 miles on it . Joyce and I are both members of the Christian Motorcyclists Association and we attend a lot of motorcycling events, rallies, etc., in that capacity. After my heart attack and surgery I put my life in God's hands and He has decided to use me to minister to bikers My wife says that even though I ride a GoldWing I have a "Harley" attitude (and appearance). My current employment no longer requires me to wear a suit and tie so it's jeans, leather, and long hair. My daughter wanted to get my five-year-old granddaughter's ears pierced around Christmas last year. She was a bit fearful so I had one of mine done to show her that it wouldn't hurt. A group of us (guys) take a trip to the mountains each summer or fall for four or five days to ride the mountain roads and twisties. We go to all of the secular rallies that we can reach - including Bike Week in Daytona where the CMA has a huge presence. Our motto is, "Bringing Souls to Christ, One Heart at a Time!" Well, that's almost forty years crammed into a few paragraphs. It was neat to find this site and see the pictures and read the bios that are posted. Except for meeting up with LuAlice once in Orlando in 1993 I've not seen anyone since I left Peace to all. |

Hi Rams, First of all I am sad to say that I didn`t
graduate from BGHS. Up until the 6th grade I was going by my
step-father`s last name, which was Guyton. Some of you might remember me
as Jerry Guyton, and my brother, Eugene (Guyton) Orr, my sister, Aloma
(Guyton) Orr.
I have two other brothers but they never lived in Florida. We moved to Belle Glade about 1953. Part of the 1st grade was in the Osceola Camp. The other part and the 2nd grade was in Southbay. The 3rd grade and part of the 4th was back in the Osceola Camp and also in Southbay. Then we moved to Birmingham, Alabama. We moved back to Belle Glade in the middle of the 6th and I attended Belle Glade Elementary. Then I was in BGHS in the 7,8,9, and the beginning of the 10th. As you can see we moved around a lot! It seemed like I was always the new kid in class. I worked at Pools Grocery just out side the Osceola Camp after school and during the summers, also at Ben`s Market and Your Food Store in Belle Glade. In 1963 we moved to Richmond, Michigan and have lived here since then. I graduated from Richmond High School (wouldn`t you just know it, their mascot is "The Blue Devils"). I still live in the Richmond area outside of town so therefore my address is Casco, Michigan, which is a township. For the last 23 years I have worked in the skilled trades as a pattern maker and mold builder. Also, I am a professional auto painter and body man. I restore automobiles as a hobby and I also enjoy working on wood projects. In 1969 I married Carole Capozzo and this year marks 32 I have been back to Belle glade only a couple of times and have wondered what became of all the friends and classmates that I went to school with. This wonderful web site has really brought back some wonderful memories that I will always cherish. I would love to hear from friends and classmates. |

I live in the Vero Beach/ Ft. Pierce area still selling
building products - windows, entryway systems, and sliding glass doors.
I live on the ocean near Ft. Pierce inlet and really enjoy walking the beach at sunrise and sunset. My favorite thing is still sports car racing. I go to as many races as I can each year. For the past 16 years I have been part of a team that broadcasts the entire 12 hours of the Sebring Race on live radio. I do the 24 hours at Daytona, Sebring Race, and the Petite Le Mans Event at Road Atlanta. This year we will be going to France again for the 24 hours of Le Mans and hope to be on the "Radio Le Mans" broadcast. I commute to Indianapolis several times each year to visit my girlfriend and to go to that most hallowed hall of speed - The Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I also write for and help maintain a "racing" web page http://www.RacingLines.com (shameless plug). I guess I'm really into it. I have been lucky enough to travel and visit many places across the United States, but I will never forget how great it was growing up in our glades community. |

I am a Railroad Track Inspector-Machine

also love to read about history, science, christian literature and a host
of other topics. I think the one thing that I am most proud of is to
have been a good husband, father and grandfather to my family. One regret
that I have is that I did not go on to college. I have been very blessed
to do pretty well even without the higher
education but probably would have done better with it. |
Sandra PHELPS Fritz
Class of 1970 Husband's Name; Donald 2 Children 2 Grandchildren |
I was born in Opa-Locka, Fl. We moved to Belle Glade when I was
4 years old.
As everyone knows, Palm Beach County School Board changed the class
agenda for the 1969-70 school year. Unfortunately, many Belle
Glade Seniors had to graduate from Pahokee High that year. I was
one of them.
I married a yankee from Johnstown, PA. We have one daughter,
Traci and I have a step-daughter from my husbands previous marriage.
My daughter is still single and career oriented. My
step-daughter is married and has two boys, ages 10 & 5. Our
children have been a blessing to us. They are wonderful girls.
We lived in Belle Glade until we moved to Michigan in 1979. In
1982 we moved to Georgia. We returned to Michigan in 1985 and have
been here every since then. I enjoy living in Michigan, including the
cold weather, though we are presently having a heat wave.
After many years working as a bookkeeper and attending college at
night, I am now an accountant. I really enjoy my work. However,
I am looking forward to retiring in 10 to 15 years.
We have been blessed abundantly and I thank the Lord for all his
blessing.
I have not been to Belle Glade since 1995 when my grandmother, Jenny
Weekley, passed away. My parents are both deceased. My
father passed away in 1979 and my mother in 1990. I have an aunt
and uncle still living in Belle Glade. My brother, Donald Phelps
and sister, Carolyn Pendleton, live in Clewiston. My sister,
Charlene Howard, lives LaBelle. When I visit Florida everyone
tries to meet in Clewiston since it is half way between
Belle Glade and LaBelle.
My best friend Kathy Rabara and I have kept in touch over the years.
She is living in Virginia now.
Unfortunately, I have lost track of most of my friends. Maybe
someday we will meet again.

After graduation I attended the Univ of Fl for a couple of years and
then decided to go to "work". After working at several
jobs trying to find my niche in life, I decided to go back to school
in 1967. In 1968, I joined the Navy and served on active duty
until 1978. I got married in 1969 and my daughter Penny was born
in 1971 in Bremerhaven, Germany. I also have 2 stepchildren -
William and Tammy who were 3 and 4 when we married.
In 1978, I left the active Navy, but remained in the reserves. I
went back to college and graduated in 1980. In 1981, my wife and
I divorced and I moved to San Diego, California. I worked in the
defense industry the entire time I lived in San Diego. I retired
from the Naval Reserves in 1988. That same year I moved to
Pensacola Florida where I continued to work in defense. In 1992,
I moved to Atlanta, GA and started working in the Nuclear Power
industry as a computer programmer. In 1994, I formed my own
company to sell software products to the power industry. In
1997, Duke Power in Charlotte, NC purchased my company and moved me to
my current location in York, SC. I worked for the power company
until 1999 and then started working as a freelance programmer for
several of the banks in the Charlotte area. In 2001, I went to
work for a small startup company doing work in the healthcare
industry. I remained there until I retired in June of 2005.
My mother is now 87 and has lived with me since 1982. I am
enjoying retirement so far and I hope that continues.
I still enjoy playing golf and surfing the internet. I also
still do some consulting work for my last employer - but all from
home.

At the present time I live in a small town in West
Virginia on top of a mountain in a 100 year-old historical Victorian
house called "Ten Oaks." We also own a horse ranch in Texas
(big mistake!) and travel all over the United States with our Nurse
Consulting Company.
For nineteen years I was a banker/realtor and when I remarried in 1991 I went back to school to become a nurse as my husband owned his own company and wanted me to work with him and the only way he would pay me was to get a nursing license. We have three children from previous marriages; Brett, who is a nursing home administrator in Virginia; Amber, who will graduate in December as a Registered Nurse; and Samantha, who is going to nursing school; in Dallas, Texas. That leaves me with our last child, Savannah, who is five and will be starting school. This will definitely cut down on my jet setting all over the country. I have been semi-retired since Savannah. whom we adopted in 1997, two weeks after my mother passed away. I would love to hear from anyone from the Glades. Life has been wonderful and good to me. |

Class of 1968 Wife's Name; Renee 2 Children |
Saludos! I did not realize we had a web site till I got invited to the
reunion of the classes for 67,68 & 69. It has been a long time.
So, here is the rest of my story.
After high school I attended Indian River Jr. College for two years on
a baseball scholarship. I then transferred to Stetson University on
another baseball scholarship and graduate in 1972. I played baseball
for the Phillies for a summer in 1972. I then tried to get a job with
the State Department but they wouldn't take me because I was not a US
citizen. So, I found the quickest way to get your citizen was to join
the military. Well, I did in 1973. I enter the US Army as a private
and made it a career. I just retired as an Army Colonel from Special
Operations Command here in Tampa in September of 2003. I am now a
consultant with Northrop Grumman dealing with the Department of
Homeland Security. My Army career started in Ft. Knox, Kentucky where
I attended basic training from there I went to Fort Lee, Virginia for
Advance Individual Training from there I went to Fort Benning Georgia
for Officer Candidate School, OCS, I then went to Germany for a three
year tour, from 1976 till 1978. It was in this assignment that I met
my wife Renee, from Glendora, California. During this tour of duty our
son Jorge jr. was born in Landstuhl, Germany. We then went to Fort
Bragg North Carolina where I was assigned with JFK Special Warfare
Center. During this tour of duty I was selected to be part of the
first team of advisors to El Salvador (1980-81). After this tour we
went to Virginia to school and then to Fort Hood, Texas, where we
spent four years from 1981-85. During this tour our son Roman Antonio
was born in Austin, Texas. We then went back to Fort Lee, Virginia
where I ran the US Army Petroleum school for three years.(1985-88),it
was followed with another tour to Fort Benning, Georgia where I
attended the Command and General Staff College at the US Army School
of the Americas. This course was taught in Spanish. We then went to
Fort Ord California for four years (1989-93).We then went to Fort Lee,
Virginia for a tour with a Petroleum and Water Group. I was then
selected to command a battalion in the 101st Airborne Division at
Fort. Campbell, Kentucky for two years. Following this assignment I
was selected to attend the War College, selected to Colonel and
Brigade level command. After a year at the Air War College in
Montgomery, Alabama I was selected for a joint assignment with US
Special Operations Command where I served from 1999 till my retirement
in September of 2003. I also was fortunate enough to attend airborne,
air-assault and Rigger schools.
My greatest accomplishment professionally was to serve the great
institution of the US Army and be selected to Infantry OCS Hall of
Fame. HOOAH!, My greatest accomplishment personally has been being
married to Renee for 27 years and having two great sons Jorge Jr. and
Roman Antonio (Chonch) and also having two set of parents Jorge and
Alicia and Coach and Ms. Shirley

but my family moved to Arkansas in December of 1964. I was in the tenth
grade at the time. I'm a service manager for a new car dealership in
Arkansas.
I have been married for the last 34 years. My wife and I have two daughters - Tammy, age 30 and Amanda, age 23. I am vice-president of my local Sons of the American Revolution, having traced my family back past the Revolution. I regret not having graduated from Belle Glade High School. I graduated from Trumann High School in Trumann, Arkansas and it was not the same as finishing with the friends I grew up with. The 1950s and '60s in Belle Glade were good years which I've never forgotten. The old Hail to Thee Dear Belle Glade High School is something that has been with me all these years. Go Rams! |

My family moved from Belle Glade to Eclectic, Alabama in
1969 so I did not graduate from BGHS, but I sure have nice memories from
Jr. and Sr. high.
In 1998 I retired from MONY after 18 years as a Business Manager, but that same year my husband and I started a new business in Wetumpka, Alabama. We now own and operate Weoka Auto & Truck Sales...can you believe it...from insurance to used car sales. Our web site is www.weokaautosales.com. Charles and I have three children; Desmond, Angela, and Daxton - three in-law children; Kelley, Jarred, and Stacey. We have been blessed with three precious grandsons; Jackson, Steven, and Cameron. We are very active members of Thelma Baptist Church in Wallsboro, Alabama.

Class of 1967 Husband's Name; Tom 2 Children 3 Grandchildren |
I moved to Alabama shortly after graduation in 1967 and
have been back to BG only once, which was in '71.
In 1974 I married Tom and we have two great kids - Randy, 33 (from my first marriage) and Denise, 26. Tom is a Probation & Parole Officer for the state of Alabama. Randy (&Rhonda) has two step-children; Hope, 15 & Levi, 13. Denise (&Jeremy) have one child; Brady, eight months. In 2002 I retired after 33 years in the insurance industry. I'm now a full-time grandmother and keep Brady while his mom is working. The pay is a whole lot less, but the benefits are WONDERFUL! God has truly blessed our family. We've experienced good times and bad times, and our Lord has been with us every step of the way. Would certainly enjoy hearing from other 1967 graduates! |

Class of 1970 Husband's Name; Don 5 Children 10 Grandchildren |
Hmmm...I have not accomplished what you may think are great and
marvelous things, but I have been a mother to my five children, and I
am married to a man that I love with all my heart. We have been
blessed with a daughter who is now ten. I have seven
grandchildren. I have survived breast cancer. I am living
with emphysema, having lost 70% of my lung capacity. I'm not
sure if that is from second-hand smoke, from running into the fields
when the crop dusters were dusting, or from running behind the
mosquito trucks as a child. I never enjoyed the smoke, but I
thoroughly enjoyed the mosquito truck and running barefoot through the
rich muck. For nine years I owned the Badcock Furniture Store in Lake
Placid. I am not working now, but I am privileged to live close
to my parents, and I drive them wherever they need to go. I am
active in my church. I have a testimony that Jesus Christ is my
Savior, and that He loves me. I am happier now than I have ever
been. My life has been truly blessed, and I regularly give
thanks to Heavenly Father for all that He has given me. Like
you, I feel great joy when I think of our school days. I am so
thankful that we had teachers who loved to teach. We had some of
the best! I'm still not a social butterfly, but I enjoy
seeing people from my past. I probably won't recognize most of
you, as I doubt you would recognize me. Life in Belle Glade was
idyllic when I was growing up. I've driven through town a few
times in the past years and I have concluded that Belle Glade, for me,
only exists in my dreams. Hail to each of you who ARE Belle
Glade High School, and God bless you.

Class of 1968 Husband's Name; Bob 3 Children |
I left Belle Glade to attend Youmg Harris College; married
that wonderful guy from Tampa, Bob; went to Asbury College ; and have
been married to Bob for 32 years. We live in Tallahassee, (Go 'Noles!)
where Bob is the minister of Killearn United Methodist Church.
We have two married children (a daughter and a son) and another son who is a senior at the University of Florida. It has been a wonderful life as a minister's wife and God has blessed us in so many ways. Our children are all close by so family time is a high priority with us. I am a kindergarten teacher but when our youngest son finishes college I will retire. We travel back to Belle Glade from time to time, as my parents, Gloria and Syd, are still living in the white house on the corner! It has been so much fun to read about so many of you and I hope we can make the reunion this summer. |

Class of 1970 Husband's name; Randy 3 Children 1 Grandchild |
My family moved to Tallahassee in the middle of my junior year at BGHS
but most of my fondest memories are in Belle Glade.
I graduated from high school in Tallahassee in 1970 and married Troy
Martin in November of the same year. We had a daughter
born to us in 1972 and Troy and I divorced shortly thereafter.
Our daughter Pam is a graduate of Florida State University and
presently lives in Texas teaching school.
I married Steve Younce (Class of 1969)in 1973 and we moved to
Tennessee. We had two daughters Jennifer and Amy born and
raised in the hills of Tennessee. Jennifer graduated
from the University of North Florida with a degree in Marketing and
works for a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson. Jen is
married to a wonderful man who spoils her rotten.
Amy graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in
Broadcasting and Communications and married a great guy she met while
in college. She worked as news director for a local television
station until the birth of her daughter in 2001.
Steve and I divorced and I returned to Florida, presently living in
the Jacksonville area.
My life is very quiet and peaceful and I receive a tremendous amount
of joy from my daughters and their husbands, and of course the
grand-daughter is the greatest. Being a grand parent is so
much fun.
My brother Allen (Class of 1968) I believe is attending the reunion
planned in June, 2004 and I cannot wait to hear all the news when he
returns.

Class of 1964 Husband's Name; Billy 2 Children No Grandchildren |
I met my husband, Billy Willis, on a blind date right
after I graduated from BGHS. He graduated from Clewiston High. We were
married six years later and we have just celebrated our 32nd
anniversary.
We have two wonderful children. Our daughter, Jennifer, is going into her junior year and is going to be Junior Drum Major of the Clewiston High School Band for 2002-2003. Our son, Casey, will be a freshman at CHS this year. My husband works for USSC. I worked as a secretary for I. A. M., Lake Local Lodge 57 in South Bay for more than 21 years. The year I quit them and adopted my daughter is the year I turned 40. I went to work for USSC in the payroll department and quit the year I turned 50 to become a stay-at-home mom. But the last thing I do is stay at home. I am blessed to have my parents living a few blocks from me in Clewiston. Between Looking after them, my home, and my school, I am never at home. Now I have two guinea pigs and one mouse added to the picture. You know the story - I promise I'll take care of it, please, please. Both of my kids love music and are in band. I devote a lot of time to the Clewiston High School band. In fact, last year I became reacquainted with Sherry Dean Hill. Her daughter is a majorette. You will see the two of us any place you see our band. It's tiring for a couple of "senior citizens", but we keep up with the youngest of them. I had major changes in my life at 40 and 50 and can't wait to see what I do when I turn 60. My husband and I love to travel but haven't done much since the kids became teenagers. We hope to get our travel trailer back on the road soon. |

A lot of years passed after graduation before I finally settled in
Hoople, North Dakota. I have been here for the last 17 years and,
except for the winters, I love it.
I have two children, from previous marriages. My son is 31 and lives with his wife and son (with another on the way) in Melbourne, Florida. My daughter, 18, is attending her first year at University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND. My husband is a quadriplegic and has been since the month and year we graduated high school - June, 1968. He managed a potato wash plant here in Hoople for over twenty years but his health has finally gotten the best of him so he retired. He has been in the hospital most of the last year and a half. Seems he still gets better as soon as deer hunting season comes along. Ha! I work as a crop adjuster and love it as I am outside and on the road most of the time. Sure would be nice to have another "reunion" as I missed the only one we had. Hope to hear from some of you. Love this website and hope it continues to grow. |

Hi everyone! So sorry I have missed the last two
reunions (however I was lost at sea for the first one about 10 years
ago). The 2nd, well business came first. Saw DeeDee
about 8 years ago, that was great!! All is well on my home
front. My hubby and I are in the "Big-Rig" trucking
business and doing fine. This one is my 2nd marriage (my
childhood "first love" but my parents broke it up cuz he was
"too old") and somehow, someway, we found one another again
and got back together after
other marriages, divorces, etc. which parted us for approximately 25
years. So that is one lovely part of my life as well as his. We
have no children together, I'm was too damn (edit if you please-ha!)
old, but I do have a beautiful 24 year old daughter (by my first
marriage) that paid her dues to the U of F and now is working on her
Masters Degree. Plus Chuck has two grown children as well.
These kids are doing a-okay! We're proud! Oh yea, what I did
with my life?!? I went to numerous Jr. Colleges
bouncing around with majoring in Sports Journalism;
(wanting to be on the sidelines and/or the lockerroom to meet Mr. Rich
Pro). Well, that lasted only a while since I found out the
"pay" was really poor; so I changed to Business/Accounting
and finished my Degree at FAU which really paid off well; had my own
"small" Accounting" business for some years; but now
basically semi-retired, just do accounting for our personal business;
and maybe just possibly someone that might need a little help from
their friend. In other words, life has been good, so very good to me.
Or just maybe, I've been good to myself??!? Ah yes,
getting somewhat older and plumper, but would not change that for the
world. I ain't getting no complaints-ha!! My
hobbies: bascially, decorating and redecorating, antiquing, spray
painting to redecorate, collecting decorating mags, pitchers, art
deco, costume jewelry (which I do wear). Now I am into the
"Gypsy" mode. Better close, I do have
a problem with "rambling on"; so will close for now. I
wish for all my friends from BGHS a most happy, fullfilled life that
they could ever imagine and may their dreams always come true and
least but not last may their cups runneth over.
May God Bless, Lynda Rose Stewart Misner |

in touch with and supporting my friends!"Life gets complicated
when you get past 18". I am glad to have accepted Jesus as my
LORD and Savior. Without His love I doubt that I'd be here to write
this. Blessings to ALL you Rams-the ones I know and the ones I never

I didn't graduate from BGHS. I was there part of my
sophomore year and all of my junior year with the '63 class. Went back
to Pahokee High and graduated. So I have the distinction of having been
a Golden Ram as well as a Blue Devil. I made a lot of good friends while
at BGHS and kinda feel as if I belong to both schools.
I married at nineteen and although we had two children it didn't work out...divorced after twelve years. Later married Alicia Vidal from the little island of Cuba. We have Connie, 36, and Jason, 32 from the first marriage and Melissa, 23 from our union. We have been happily married fro more than 27 years! I have been general manager of Lykes Bros. Sugar Cane Division for the last fifteen years. We live in Belle Glade but the farm is located in Moore Haven and Brighton on the other side of the lake. I was elected to the Belle Glade city commission in 1987 and served for ten years including one as Mayor. I retired from the commission in 1997. I can honestly say I wish we could turn the clock back - ith has changed completely in the Glades area from what we grew up to love and enjoy. Well, guess that's about it. I wish I could have made it to the Fortieth Reunion, it had to be great. |

Gerrie and I divorced after 3 kids - all boys.
Married my present wife in 1975. We have 1 son. Worked for Southern Bell for 27 1/2years. Had a bad bout with colon cancer in 1993. God brought
us thru that as well as many other things on our journey here.
Ma Bell offered me early retirement in 1997. I accepted gladly and we moved to Tifton, Ga. We stayed there two years and then moved 30 miles farther north to Fitzgerald, where we presently live. |

Since graduation, I attended beautician school in Ft.
Lauderdale, Florida but didn't finish. Instead I married the perfect man
God chose for me. We lived in Belle Glade for 27 years where we raised
our daughter and son. Now that our children are grown and married, we
have moved away from Belle Glade to a place where it's very quiet. We
live on 4 acres of land out in the woods where all we have now is our
Basset Hound, who we consider the baby now. We are very happy and have been for 31 wonderful years. We have two wonderful grand kids, and if I have any regrets of moving away from Belle Glade, those two grands would be the reason. We don't let time get away from us too far that we don't see them at least three to four times a year. I just Thank God for all the wonderful blessings that he has given me and hope to continue being as happy as I am now. |

I fulfilled one of my childhood dreams by attending the
University of Florida after graduation in 1964. Graduated from U of F in
1968. Then I went on a two-year mission for The Church of Latter Day
Saints in Chile, S.A. What a wonderful time! I loved and still love the
Chilean people. When I left there were approximately 42,000 members. Now
there are nearly 600,000, so it is gratifying to have a small part in
such a large success.
I moved to Utah in 1971 then back to Florida in 1975. Met Lisa Seymour in 1972 at Trolley Square, a nostalgia retail mall in Salt Lake City. We were married in 1975. We've been separated since 1992 but due to mutual commitment to our three children we still maintain our focus on them. Alex, 25 is finishing his first year at University of California-Berkeley where he's majoring in Linguistics. A junior transfer student, he got a 4.2 GPA (super intellect from his mom). He is married to Jenny and they have my only grandchild - Joshua, age 1. Alex is 6'4", 250#! Alyssa, my baby, 23, is finishing at UC-Davis, doing her last semester abroad in Sienna, Italy. She is 5'11" and beautiful. Jordan, 18, is a freshman at Grossmont Community College in San Diego. 6'3", 150#. These are my earthly and heavenly treasures and have made all the disappointments and challenges we all have worthwhile. I am office administrator for a small real estate firm here in Sacramento. 906-488-7653. And to all my dancing partners from teen-town, I still feel a need to DANCE!!! My brother, Byron, class of '54, still lives in our family home in South Bay, so go to visit. My sister Marsha, is retired teacher in West Melbourne. We love our memories of the good old glory days of the glades. Hopefully I will hear from some of my cherised friends (See their is a way to avoid word old!) |

I think about Teen Town, Bowling Alley, The Park (which I spent alot of summers in), Swimming Pool (which I also spent alot of summers in) Halloween Carivals, The Theater (which was .25 back then not to mention you could stay and resee the movie again) also, the Drive-In Move and not to metion all the activties the school had to offer. I forgot about the Dike... IT WAS GREAT GROWING UP IN A SMALL TOWN.......My husband & I spend alot of our weekends at our lake cottage...way out in the woods away from everything..sunshine has to be pumped in. Life has been good to me I have been blessed over the years. When I visted BG several years back it was dishearten.. NO SCHOOL.. AND BARS ON THE WINDOWS DOWN TOWN nothing like I remembered it. If anyone ever makes it to my nake of the woods give me call..Love to hear from you. |

Class of 1969 Wife's Name; Karen No children |
I've been married since 1974 to Karen, an import from New
York City whom I met in Ft. Lauderdale. No kids, by choice.
I'm an accountant and have spent many years in public accounting, industry and government. After BGHS, I went to Broward Community College, then Florida State
University and finished up at Florida Atlantic University. I have many fond memories of Belle Glade, but I haven't been back since 1970. That's why my two regrets are that I haven't kept up with friends and did not attend the tenth year reunion in 1979. I truly appreciate this site because it helps fill in the missing pieces. |
Randy WAY
Class of 1957 Wife's Name; Martha J. 6 Children 4 Grandchildren |
Having taught industrial arts/technology education since 1973 in
Stuart, Clewiston & LaBelle, you can see that I did not get far
from the Glades, although while in the Navy I did serve in
Charleston, SC, Norfolk, VA, Boston MA, Port Hueneme, CA and the
Republic of Vietnam. I retired from teaching after 31 years and for
the past two years have served the City of LaBelle as Code
Enforcement Supervisor. I had worked part time for LaBelle for
10 years during which time I had written the Code Enforcement
Program, so it was only natural to go full time since my lovely wife
is not ready to retire from teaching. She teaches Pre K ESE
students at LaBelle Elementary School. She is from Clewiston
and we are both FSU Grads and BIG Seminole Fans... Go NOLES.
We are members of First Baptist Church of LaBelle and involved with
the Florida Baptist Hurricane Relief Program.
In our spare time we enjoy Camping, Fishing and Kayaking.

Pat WEAVER Allums
Husband's Name; Paul Allums Class of 1953 7 Children 15 Grandchildren 1 Great-grandchild |
I graduated from BGHS in 1953 and Jackson
Memorial School of Nursing in 1956. Lived in Miami
for another 7 years, returning to the Glades after a divorce. Married Paul in 1967 and moved to St. Petersburg in 1969. Have worked in Surgery almost all of those years, retiring from "All Children's Hospital" in 1997. Spent the last 8 years at ACH developing and running the computer network in Surgery. I should have been born 10 years later! Loved it! Have done consulting in the field from 1999 traveling from CA to MI. Work part time now to keep my skills and like to travel. I'm an avid cross stitcher, and of course, a loving grandmother. They range in age from 28 to 9 years. One great-grandchild and another on the way. Children are scattered in CO, NC, and FL. In 2006 we moved to our present location in Hiawassee, GA enjoying the changing seasons, cool temperatures. We hear cows lowing, chickens crowing, and occasionally have snow. It is beautiful and we love it. Anyone up this way, give us a call. |

Kit WEEKS Fisher
Class of 1968 Husband's name; Lynn 3 Children |
Married Lynn Fisher in 1973. We have 3 grown wonderful children,
Ben (28), Bart (26) and Becky (25). We have lived as far away as
Oregon and as close as Ft. Myers, but we have been in Tallahassee for
the last 15 years. I'm a legal assistant with an insurance
defense firm and Lynn is with the Florida Public Service Commission.
Now that our children are grown, we are getting down to the important
things in life, golf! I just recently broke 100 and now consider
myself a real golfer, not just one of those people roaming around the
golf course chasing balls (in the trees, in the next fairway, etc.)
When not golfing, my husband and I spend a lot of time chasing birds.
Yes, we are those people you see at national parks, wildlife
preserves, and sewer plants with our bird books and binoculars going
wherever the "yellow bellied sapsucker" takes us.
Our oldest son, Ben, lives in Charleston, South Carolina working for
Beezer Construction. Our middle son, Bart, is still in
Tallahassee working with a pharmaceutical sales company, and our
daughter, Becky, (our little environmentalist) lives in Jacksonville
and is working for CSX Railroad and does the mapping of their railways
and properties. None of them are married yet and we have no
grandchildren.
It has been so much fun to read everyone's profiles and postings.
I'm still hoping that more hear about this site so we can all find out
about those classmates we haven't seen or heard from since high
school! Those were the good ole days!

Class of 1952 Wife's name; Jackie 3 Children 2 Grandchildren |
I have lived up to my "Jack." Jack of all
trades. master of none.
I served in the military from 1952 to 1955. Spent two years in the Phillipines. Released from military duty in 1955. I then took a sabbatical from the world and partied for about five years. During those five years I made more enemies than I did before and after. I migrated to Georgia in 1960 where I met my wife, Jackie, and started anew. I've lived a good life, had a good job. Jackie and I have raised three fine sons which include twins, Jon and Rob. One of which was married just yesterday to a fine young lady from Atlanta named Catherine. |

Nursing in New Orleans where I graduated in 1971. I worked in intensive
care for 9 years before having my first son in 1980. I met my husband in
New Orleans (his sister was a friend). He owns an industrial contracting
company with offices in New Orleans and Lakeland. I haven't worked in
the hospital since my son, Nikolaus was Presently I am the assistant to the Dean at the high school my youngest attends. Blessedly, I see all my brothers and sister very often, all of whom still live in Florida. My father died in 1997 but my mother is living in Ft Pierce and doing very well. As you can see from the profile my husband and I have two children.
Our oldest, Aaron (26) graduated from Savannah College of Art and
Design with a degree in Computer Art. He now lives in Los Angeles and
works for a company (Radium) doing special effects for movies,
commercials and music videos. He worked on the trailers for Spiderman
II and Catwoman to mention a few. He loves his work and surfing,
biking, hiking and snowboarding in California. We hate having him so
far away but it does give us a good excuse to go to California several
times a year.
Our second child, Melissa(24) is graduating from FSU at the end of
April with a degree in Political Science and Public Administration.
She has been threatening to go to law school but wants to take a break
first. Neither of our children are married.
My husband and I lived in the Treasure Coast area(Martin and St. Lucie
Counties) until about four years ago when we moved to Tallahassee.
After working for DOE for four years my husband is now the CFO for
Jefferson County School District. In January I was appointed the
Director of the Office of Early Learning for the State of Florida. My
office is responsible for the state child care program and the day to
day operations of the new Unviersal Voluntary Prekindergarten Program.
I am still adjusting to North Florida and miss the beaches and palm
trees of South Florida but do enjoy the change in seasons Tallahasse
has to offer.
Hope to see some of you at the reunion in June.

Class of 1966 Husband's Name; John 4 Children 6 Grandchildren antqhood@aol.com |
I went to nursing school in Panama City and returned to
work in Belle Glade. I married Johnny Hood (no relation to Linda or
Doug) and we've been married for 33 years now. We have two boys and two
girls and they all have boys and girls of their own - aged five years to
one year. If anyone wants more information on my kids or grandkids I
will gladly share!
My dad, Bruce Williams, died three years ago but my mom, Catherine still lives here. My sister, Kay, lives in Jupiter. Larry lives in Jacksonville and Keith in Nebraska. Johnny worked for A. Duda and Sons for 26 years. Then we opened our own auto parts store and shop for 13 years. We closed the business and sold our store last year. Johnny is retired and I am still working at the hospital here - which I really enjoy. It's wonderful to take care of people you know and have known your whole life. We enjoy outdoor activities, fishing, hunting, and traveling. We plan to retire to Chandler, North Carolina (near Asheville) for the summer months and be in Ft. Myers during the winter. We enjoy flea markets, antique shows, e-bay and have set up at some antique shows. Johnny collects coins, guns, pocket watches, and Winchester items. I collect medical/nursing items. I really love the memories and heritage Belle Glade has given me and my family. There is nothing more important to me than my family. I have very fond memories of my youth and growing up in Belle Glade. I thank God for all the people he has helped influence my life. |

After graduating from Belle Glade High in 1967, I attended Palm Beach
Junior College for one year. I was then called to serve a
mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the
Finland Helsinki Mission. I served there for two wonderful
years. I had the privilege of learning the language and being

world. It was an experience that lives with me still today.
After Finland, I continued my formal education at Brigham Young
University located in Provo, Utah, about forty miles south of Salt
Lake City. I did not graduate from BYU, but returned to Palm
Beach County and graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a
degree in education. I taught school in West Palm Beach for one

Granite School District for over ten years, I am currently a principal
of a school of 500 culturally diverse children in Salt Lake City.
I love my job working with elementary age children.

attending Brigham Young University. She is seeking a degree in

He is involved in basketball and lacrosse. Lacrosse is his passion.
Karla, my wife, graduated from Brigham Young University and has taught

I graduated from BGHS in 1951. Attended Florida Southern
College for 2 years. Joined the U.S. Army in April, 1953. After three
years in the service I went back to Belle Glade and worked at the post
office until September, 1958.
I had heard that Dallas, Texas was a dynamic city in the production of television and radio jingles so I moved there. I managed to get into the business and spent the next 35 years recording national radio and television singing commercials. Also, I sang on several movie backgrounds, sang record backups for various recording artists and was in a few movies. Although I lived in the Dallas area I recorded in Dallas, New York, and Los Angeles. Also, during those years I was a soloist with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra on two occasions and with the Chicago Symphony once. I have two daughters (Laura and Debra) and one son (Greg). I have 8 grandsons. Laura has six boys and Debra has two boys. Greg doesn't have any children. I live close to them so I see them often. I am now retired. My hobbies are model railroading, patio gardening and playing with my computer. |

I am absolutely dedicated to helping people get healthy. I study and
research and talk constantly, working with Doctors and Nutritionists.
We speak w/anyone we can for no fee, and our rewards are thank yous.
Steve works as a Commercial Construction Project Manager, but loves
residential, also.
We are white water rafters, having done 18 day private trips through
the Grand Canyon twice. We also are snow skiers, both on the
slopes and cross country.
We have been together since 1977, and built houses 'together' in the
mountains of Colorado. He taught me to use all the tools and
understand the trade. You know we get along well and are good
friends if we can not only live with each other, but work together
also.
We are sailors, and live on our 42' blue water sailboat. In 1997
we left America, taking 3 years to sail south through the Bahamas,
Caribbean and other islands down to Venezuela. What an
adventure!
In 96 we were in a bad storm, losing our boat in the very southern
Bahamas. We were injured, rescued, and got right back into it.
I love life, the Lord, and my career!
